Where is the bitcoin stored if no hardware wallet is included?
Bitcoin is able to be spent by whoever has your private keys (the 12 or 24 words). A hardware wallet simply stores those words the same way a piece of paper does. Your bitcoin balance is recorded on the timechain (aka the bitcoin blockchain) and your combination of words is like the key that unlocks it. That is why it is important to never enter the words into any connected device or share them with anyone ever.
If someone asks you for your words (your private keys) – IT IS A SCAM.
What if I run out of seed cards or tamper bags?
Our kits come with multiple seedphrase cards, envelopes for them, and temperevident bags. If you use them all you can buy our Self Custody Top-Up Pack. You can also buy them ahead of time as extras for redundancy.
